Meredith's New Barbie Doll Townhouse

Eugene received a Toy pamphlet from Robinson in early November and left it on my table before leaving for business trip in Thailand.

I showed it to Meredith and she told me in Mandarin (hardly hear her speaking Mandarin) that she wanted to buy the Barbie Doll Townhouse. My goodness, it costs $99.90 and if I am going to buy it without Eugene's permission, surely I will be scolded by him.

So when Eugene was back in Singapore, I asked Meredith to check with her papa and surprising he agreed to buy for her as X'mas present.

Yesterday, her dream came true, just like her mama.

Finally, after 3 years, I received a x'mas present from Eugene.

Sometimes, I really like x'mas because I received wonderful gifts from him, even though not every year. He always tell me not to expect any x'mas or birthday present. He will surprise me if he wanted to give me.

Want to know I have got from him this year? Tenten... A Tag Heuer Aquracer with 10 diamonds, each weight around 0.09 carat.

3 years back (Y 2004), he surprised me with a Georg Jensen watch which I put up in my dream folder.

My Little Brother is now somebody's Husband

Today, 15 December 2007 was Ah Yong and Khai Zhen's big day. They had their ROM at Swissotel Merchant Court, followed by high-tea reception.

Eugene was so funny, he said he forgot to ask if my parents were happy as they have daughter-in-law liao...

Kieran or Keegan?

Our second baby will be due in mid April 2008. It's a baby boy... We are now in the midst of naming him. So Kieran or Keegan? Eugene vote for Keegan and Meredith too.

Meaning of Keegan - little fiery one.

We have been telling Meredith about baby Didi and she loves hugging and kissing him. She will read bedtime stories and sings for him. She loves to follow me for check-ups as she is able to see keegan during scanning.

Last week, Wang Lao Shi asked Dith to recite out the Tang Shi, which she has learnt "Yong E" to me. To my surpised, she did it very well. Even I don't know what is it.

Happy 3rd Birthday To Meredith!

Today is Meredith's 3rd B/D. She sat on her favourite "swing swing" before going to school.

To make her happy, we took a bus to school instead of driving as she likes to take bus and MRT.

After school, her friends + mummies, we went to Square 2 for lunch followed by game centre and dessert at Anderson Ice cream.

After which, we took MRT home. Today, her wish came true, took bus and also MRT.

My New Compaq Presario V3000

Ah Wee had an extra laptop since he re-contracted his starhub. Decided to buy from him as my old HP desktop will be dead soon.

Yesterday, Meredith played the games from Sesame Street and offered to shut down the laptop for me. Well, I agreed and guided her since she can handle the mouse now quite well.

Instead of clicking on shut down, she accidentally clicked on "hibernate" and the screen was gone. At that moment, I was shocked and had raised my voice on her. Tried to press on the power button but it does not work. Meredith moved and clicked on the mouse and then .... the screen is back. Guess what she told me, "there... came back already.

Afterwhich, I shut down the laptop and she said again, "see, shut down already" and gave me a snobbishly look. Eugene, our Meredith has grown up.

Barbie B/D Cake for Meredith

Celebrated Meredith's b/d yesterday. She is 3 years old now, time files. As usual, she chose her own b/d cake.

Teacher's Day Celebration at Zoo-phonic School

Meredith and her classmates celebrated Teacher's Day on 31 August. Parents were asked to contribute food and drinks for the celebration.

Helen bought a Pooh cake, Aimee fried nuggets & hashbrown, Kim bought panda biscuits, Georgina bought ice-cream and I bought popper juices. There were cupcakes, jellies, cookies from other parents too.

As usual, the kids were all very happy and enjoyed the party including the mummies.

Yahoo Auction!

Managed to sell away my Gucci Large Messenger bag via yahoo auction last Thu. Posted for about 2 months. Sold at $950, bought at $1400, a loss of $450.

Compared to selling to second hand shop which I can only get back $700, this was considered very good price.

Reminder to Rebecca, never buy "expensive" bag impulsively.

Managed to find it and would like to share with you all.

December Holiday

The Goh Family is considering having December holiday in Tokyo & Osaka. Knowing that I cannot eat Japanese food, Vincent suggested that we should start eating it every weekend so I can get used to it.

I am allergy to Japanese food since I was in secondary school. Cannot take raw food, sushi, eel, udon & also miso soup. Will either have diarrhoea or vomit.

Today, we went to Kuryia at Shaw Centre, 5th floor. I ordered a katsudon set meal & a chawamushi followed by a scoop of macha ice-cream. Ordered a udon with seaweed for Meredith as she has a little cough.

Meredith is just like me, don't know how to appreciate Japanese food, seem like she almost vomitted after finishing the bowl of udon. Her expression was so funny that Eugene & my mum-in-law cannot stopped laughing ;>)

For me, guess what happened! Vomitted the macha ice-cream instead of the food, good try right?

National Day Celebration

Today, Meredith celebrated National Day in school. All of us are dressed in red & white. The teachers & kids danced and sang birthday song for Singapore. The kids enjoyed most was the food, especially Meredith!

Roti Prata

Mummies' breakfast venue today was at The Prata House along Thomson Road.

Georgina did not know where we have decided to eat this morning and she was shocked when we went into the Roti Prata House. This was her first attempt to have roti prata and a glass of teh halia made by Indian. Kim's reaction was so funny and asked me to put this in my blog.

Personally, I prefer the roti prata at Casurina road instead of Jalan Kayu. What's yours?

When I was expecting Meredith 3 years ago. My craving was roti prata and nasi lemak, I ate it everyday for breakfast. Morning sickness was very bad for the first 4 months, vomited every meal except for breakfast. Time really flies, those was the days.

How I spent my month of July as housewife

Have not been working for the month of July as I need to cover my mum-in-law's duty as CEO of childcare centre at Kim Keat Ave.

There are 4 toddlers (aged 33 months, 30 months & 27 months) & 3 kids (9 yrs old and 7 yrs old).

Send Meredith to school from Mon - Thu, 9.30 am - 11.30 am. During these 2 hours, I will have breakfast with Aimee, Kim, Georgia & Helen (Meredith's classmate mummies). Do marketing either at Thomson Plaza NTUC or Shop & Save.

Proceed straight to Kim Keat Ave to take over Tracy who is on morning shift.
1) feed the toddlers lunch together with the help of 3 domestic helpers
2) watch hi5, pingu, barney or other TV programmes
3) shower for Meredith
4) nap time for the kids at around 1 plus

I shall then have some free time to surf the net or watch my Korean series. Decide what to cook for dinner and the domestic helpers will prepare the ingredients.

Sean and Leroy are back at 2.15 pm.
1) have their lunch
2) shower
3) do homework (felt embarrassed when Sean asked me to help with his math problem, I have a hard time explaining the working steps) OMB! I must attend Kumon with them.
4) play computer games

At 4.30 pm, watch Taiwanese show casted on channel 8 "Yi Nan Wang". Start cooking at 5.30 pm. We have a big family, the dinner is for 9 adults & 7 kids. Eugene is impressed of me, I am someone who does cooking less than 6 times a YEAR. However, I can cook out things which my mum-in-law has been cooking. Sometimes, I will call my mum-in-law to check the recipes. Most importantly, my nephews love my cooking too.

It is really not easy taking care of 7 kids, their shouting, screaming, crying, snatching of toys are getting on my nerves. I have to use cane or chilli sauce to settle them down.

Also, can you image bringing 4 toddlers & 3 domestic helpers to Shop & Save? I surrender!

Diaper Bags (aka "Ni Gan Bag")

Talking about diaper bags, make a guess, how many do I have! Good chance to make a count today.

2 authentic Gucci, 1 authentic coach, 3 carter's and 1 disney winnie the pooh . Oh mine, 7 and still searching around. Left out those non-authentic Lesportsac which I bought in Shanghai. (Ops, eugene will stop me from getting my LV Neverfull MM after seeing this post.)

Meredith is now going to 3 years old, things to bring out are lesser. 1 nepia pull-up pant, 1 pkt of pigeon baby wipe, 1 handkerchief, 1 bib, 1 blouse, 1 pant & a bottle of plain water.

Happened to saw this bag in one of the forum for mummies.

Sold out when launched in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia. The bag was priced at £5 and people are selling on yahoo auction and ebay at $290 and above. Guess what! People still buying them.

Well, even my LV Neverfull MM also sold out, got to wait for at least 2 - 3 months... (by then, my neck very long liao), also tempted to buy from yahoo auction.

Call for Celebration!

Mum-in-law's spine surgery was very successful as per Dr Seow. The screws are all in place, she will be up and walking just like us.

Today, she was discharged and will stay at Vincent's house. Janet will take care of her there. Need to rest for at least a month plus before she can take care of all the kids and cook for us again. Tracy and I take turns to be "Wu Ah Yi" in Kim Keat Ave.

Have set nap time rules for all the kids, so that I can have peace. You will agree with me when you see the photo.

07/07/07 - Mum-in-law's Spine Surgery

Vincent, Francis, Sogo & Eugene accompanied Mum-in-law to Gleneagles Hospital at 6.30 am for her surgery at 9 am.

Have asked my mum and dad to help look after the 8 kids in my house so that all of us can visit my mum-in-law once she was out of the operating theatre.

My mum was down with flu that evening, guess too noisy and stressful for her looking after 8 kids as she usually only have Meredith.

Thanks Mum & Dad for your help.

My Brother, Choon Yong's Marriage Plan

Yong have selected his own HDB flat in Seng Kang. He and Khai Chin will have their ROM on 15 December 2007.

Time passes, my two brothers are big boys now. Thinking back when the 3 of us were just kids. Mum used to chase us around the house with a cane and we would hide in the cupboard. During school holiday, yong worked in a furniture factory, fell from the bus and had a very bad wound on the stomach. In school, people thought I was ah wee's girlfriend and many more...

Scream again, I give you Chilli Sauce!

Recently, Meredith had the habit of screaming if she doesn't get things that she wants. Have tried all sorts of ways but just cannot stop her.

Tonight, she screamed again, I fed her with chilli sauce and it works. When she was about to scream, I stared at her and she started covering her mouth and said she don't want chilli sauce.

Well, let see how long will this last.

Happy Birthday to Ah Ma!

Today is my mum-in-law's 68th birthday.

We had breakfast at Ah Moi street as Janet misses the Lor Mee. Proceeded to Vincent's house for swimming.

Dinner was held at Ritz Carlton's Summer Pavilion, 6.30 pm. The food and services were excellent. All of us enjoyed ourselves.


Cake cutting at Kim Keat Karaoke. It was a fruitful day today, the whole event ended at 11.20pm. The kids were all very tried and fell asleep in the car.

Sean Goh's Birthday!

Vincent had booked a room for Sean's birthday at Swissotel The Stamford. This was his birthday present for reading faxes everyday.

All of us secretly went up to his room for the cake cutting session. After which, we went to Great World City for dinner. Sogo brought Sean, Leroy and Nigel to Mc Donald while the rest of us ate at the food junction.

We went to the arcade, the kids enjoyed themselves.

Warm Welcome for Sogo & His Family

Sogo, Janet, Nigel and Renee arrived this morning at 5.03 am from Shanghai. They will be spending their summer vacation back in Singapore for close to 2 months.

Together with Mum, Vincent, Eugene, myself and Meredith, we went to fetch them at the airport. It's really nice to see them back.

We went to Lor 1 Toa Payoh market for bee hoon & char siew bao. Afterwhich, we proceeded to Vincent's house.

Can You Believe it!

After serious consideration, I have decided to get my Dream Bag "LV Neverfull MM" before the 7% GST hike and also approval from Eugene to use my own "shi fang qian".

This morning when Tracy was there with her sister, she was told that there were 10 left and no stock at DFS. For this range, they only carry limited stock.

Happily, went to Takashimaya, saw a long queue outside Louis Vuitton boutique. Joined the queue since I wanted to get it. Queued for about 10 mins before it was my turn to go in. Guess what, the bag was OUT OF STOCK. Oh my buddha, I cannot believe it.

Told Eugene about it and he offered to send me Raffles Hotel to check after his work but I rejected. Don't know why, I was not angry or dissappointed about it. Did not even call the other two outlets to check.

Well, will leave it as it is now, maybe not getting it anymore unless "lighting strike" (you know what I meant right, Eugene!)

Mum-in-law's Spine Surgery

Mum asked me to help her call Dr Seow from Gleneagles Hospital this morning to book her spine surgery. She has decided to go for the operation this time, guess the pain is unbearable to her now. She complains of not being able to sleep at night, feels the pain even sitting, not able go shopping with us etc.

It has been confirmed on 07/07/07 at 9 am. Success rate as per Dr Seow is 99%. However, it's a major operation. Vincent, Tracy, Francis, Priscilla, Sogo, Janet, Eugene and myself will pray for mum.

Buddha, please bless my mum.

Hand shake with MP

Where shall we go for breakfast today? Our usual "headache" for Goh Family every Sunday, Mum suggested Sims Ave. However, Francis reminded us that there is a dengue fever cluster around that area, so, we decided to go to Serangoon Gardens. The kids love the bread from one of the bakery stall.

The re-opening of Serangoon Gardens Market event was going on at the hawker centre. There are performances like lion dance, chinese orchestra, dancing etc. Mrs Lim Hwee Hua, Minister of State for Finance and Transport was the guest of honor.

All of us got a chance to shake hands with Mrs Lim when she went round to meet residences. When it was Meredith's turn, she stood up, shake hands and even let Mrs Lim carry her. A kiss on Mrs Lim's cheek was also given by Meredith.

Guess Meredith didn't know what was happening. To her, just another auntie.

This is my first time shaking hands with MP, wow, hope to strike 4D today....

Meredith's New Friend, Lumpy

Potty training succeeded! Meredith did it... Praising & rewarding do works. How she did it?

Brought her to kiddy palace, asked her to choose the potty that she likes. Encouraged her to wee wee in the potty. Whenever she did it, all of us will clap hands and praising her.

Meredith is a fan of Winne the Pooh and she always wanted to have one of pooh's friend, "Lumpy". So, I offered to buy her that if she succeed in her potty training.

Today, she brought home her new friend, Lumpy.

Warning was also given, if she happens to wee wee on the floor, Lumpy will leave her...

Music Together

Enrolled Meredith for Holiday Programme in Magic Fiddler together with Melissa and Natalie. When we reached the reception, Meredith anxiously asked if we can go into the classroom. I can see that she really enjoys her music class.

Today, we explored the keyboard, did glissando, played with some other instruments and rhythm chants. We had 45 mins of fun.

Frankly, I don't know how to read music notes nor play the keyboard. When Tracy played the baa baa black sheep and twinkle twinkle little stars using Melissa's keyboard, Meredith ran over and said "mei mei" one have that two songs but not mine . So funny right?

1st trip to Zoo for Meredith

Meredith was supposed to visit Singapore Zoo today with her classmates, Crystal & Ian. However, the trip was cancelled as they were both unwell.

Promise was made to her so I asked Eugene along. Melissa, my niece joined us too. Meredith was so scared when we approached the Flamingo, lions and zebras, thanks to Melissa, who is not fearful of anything brought Meredith out of her 1st step. They enjoyed most during the feeding of Jaguar. I was surprised to see Meredith standing right in front of the glass panel calling "Jaguar, where are you?".

The new Splash Safari show was enjoying too, the sea lion is very well-trained. His welcome splashes wet most of his audiences.

We did not managed to see all the animals as the kids including myself were very tried. Will be there again.

Toilet Training for Meredith

Do you need wee wee? Meredith will tell me no and refuse to sit on the potty. She wets my sofa just now. I usually don't allow her to sit on the sofa or bed if she does not have her diaper on. She refused to wear panties as she could not sit on the sofa and bed. I felt bad about it.

She wets herself 3 times within 30 minutes... the potty is just beside her. Frankly, I am getting very impatient. I know I have to remain calm and not rush things.

Luckily, poo poo part has been trained. Guess, I have to work on rewarding her if she urines in the potty.

Women's Age - A Secret!

We talked about how we met our husband and also age during our usual "Mama" breakfast time while waiting for our kids today.

Kim met Moses in Zouk, Helen met Derick during their university in Australia and Georgina was during picnic and I met Eugene while working part-time in karaoke.

Today is Kim's birthday, women's age - a secret! Ha ha, Kim managed to persuade Georgina to disclosed her secret....

Happy Meal - Shrek 3 Toys

Managed to collect all the Shrek 3 toys from McDonald for Dith. Very happy, thanks to Eugene for finding the shrek from Tanglin Mall and also my eldest brother-in-law, Vincent for making the trip to Jurong Entertainment Centre to get the Donkey and Dronkey.
